While the dock leveller is the "bridge," the Industrial Dock Shelter is the "envelope." It is a structure designed to seal the perimeter of a truck as it backs into the loading bay 

Its primary job is to create a tight seal between the building and the trailer, protecting the interior environment from the elements.
